Elevator Replacement Project

We are improving our accessibility. The Royal Saskatchewan Museum will soon have a safer, larger and more accessible public elevator. The replacement project will begin on September 5, 2017 and is planned to be completed by early 2018. Work is being coordinated to minimize the impact on museum visitors. Registration is now open for fall programs with the Friend of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. Explore the galleries after hours with our kids’ clubs – Megamunch Club (ages 5-8) and Young Explorers Club (ages 9-12) – both are jam packed with games, activities, crafts and age-appropriate FUN! Or check out smARTies (ages 6-10), a program that combines art and biology. Looking to get some 'me time' while the little ones are busy? Try Yoga at the Museum (ages 18+)! Yoga sessions coincide with our Megamunch Club and smARTies programs.


Children aged 2 to 5 and their caregivers are invited to join us in the Paleo Pit for 20 minutes of stories and hands-on activities with real museum specimens! All Storytime sessions start at 10:30 am and the Paleo Pit will remain open until 12:00 pm for parent supervised play after the program.

Adults of all skill levels welcome! Our instructor presents yoga moves in different variations, so it doesn't matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced yogi. We will provide everyone with yoga mats to use during each session, and each session will take place in a different part of the our galleries. So it's yoga and gallery exploration at the same time!

If you're a parent, note that all our yoga sessions coincide with our Megamunch Club program for kids 5 to 8 years old, and our smARTies program for kids 6 to 10 years. To register call 306-787-7271.

What do you get when you mix art with biology? Learning made fun, fun, fun! Kids learn interesting facts about critters and get the opportunity to make their own creation based on a particular art technique or style. For kids 6 to 10 years. Call 306-787-7271 to register.

The Young Explorers Club offers an evening of facts and fun for 9-12 year olds. Each program includes pizza and pop for supper, a full-length film in our theatre, and an interactive learning program that includes gallery exploration, experiments, games, and crafts.


Fridays starting September 15, 2017 to November 24.



Megamunch Club is a fun, interactive learning program for children ages 5-8. It is a hands-on learning experience full of activities. Each program includes cool facts, games, scavenger hunts, artifact exploration, and gallery discovery. And for parents, ask us about yoga at the Museum during.


Sundays starting September 10, 2017 to November 19, 2017

In 1986, the ground at the Museum shook as staff welcomed their newest member, a half-sized robotic Tyrannosaurus rex!


For children turning 4-9 years old, spend a fun and informative morning or afternoon at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum! Choose from three interactive themed parties to explore and discover the many secrets of Saskatchewan's past and present.

A little something extra offered by our museum educators on dates when both Regina Public and Regina Catholic are out of school. Designed for family groups, look for programs such as Discovery Tables or scavenger hunts. The Paleo Pit is open on School’s Out! days from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is by donation. Daycare and camp groups, please call ahead and register with the reception desk at 306-787-2815.

Also, The Friends of the Museum run School’s Out! movies at 2:30 pm. Movie tickets are $3 each. Popcorn, drinks and other movie snacks available at Megamunchies concession.

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum offers educational programs for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in the areas of First Nations, Life Sciences and Earth Sciences. Programs are interactive and include hands-on activities and a visit to the RSM galleries. The Paleo Pit is an interactive facility for younger students. Teachers wishing to use the Paleo Pit can book it when they book their program. Saskatchewan teachers may also borrow loan kits on a variety of topics to enhance instruction in the classroom.
