KidSportTM is a Children's Charity dedicated to assisting children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs. The KidSportTM goal is to provide these children with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of teamwork, dedication and responsibility through participation in sport. KidSportTM strives to ensure that 100 per cent of donations and fundraising proceeds are directed to KidSportTM children. This is made possible through the generous support of local and provincial sponsors. Funds raised are directed in the form of grants to individual children or to KidSportTM programs. Individual grants ranging up to $300 are available to children up to the age of eighteen. Program funding may also be available to sport organizations and youth agencies targeting KidSportTM children. Upon approval of the KidSportTM Application Form, funds are sent directly to the sport organization on behalf of the family who applied for financial assistance. All applications are screened by an approval committee to ensure the financial need and legitimacy of the applicant. KidSportTM policies require that at least one of the following individuals endorse the application: a school teacher, principal, or community school worker; a professional in social work or family services; a law enforcement officer; a member of the clergy; or a recreation administrator.
