Miller Comprehensive High School operates on a two semester, 197 day school year, usually beginning around August 28 and ending June 30 (with holidays for Christmas and Easter). Our school day is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. Aside from our mainstream classes we also offer: a modified program of studies leading to high school graduation, as well as an alternative program available for students who may require these services.
Advanced Classes: Advanced Placement classes offer students an opportunity to receive academic enrichment and the opportunity to pursue college level studies while still in secondary school. Successful completion of Advanced Placement classes will result in students receiving Advanced Placement designation on Ministry of Education transcripts and possible university credit (dependent on scores obtained on AP International Exams written in May each year).
• Advanced Placement Courses are in: Studio Art, Psychology, English Literature & Composition, Computer Science, and Calculus.
Practical and Applied Arts Classes allow students to take classes in Cosmetology, Commercial Cooking, Construction, Welding, and Automotives. These classes allow students to develop skills which will aid them if they move on towards a career in the trades or simply to develop skills in an area of interest to them.
Magnet Courses: Students within our system are able to travel to other system high schools in order to take advantage of courses offered only in these buildings (i.e. photography, applied technology, New Media, etc.)
We recognize the academic accomplishments of our students each fall with an academic awards evening. In all programming (academics, sports, and fine arts), our students have excelled. We also hold an extra-curricular awards night each spring.
We offer a wide range of athletic activities to our students and participation is encouraged and fostered by teachers, staff and parents who coach and administer our programs.
Our Extra-curricular activities include:

Our school has an outstanding tradition not only for our sport teams but also for our outstanding fine arts programs. Our choral program consists of approximately 100 students each year with vocal jazz groups at each grade level. The band program continues at the high school level with group instruction and whole band rehearsals. We produce one major drama production yearly and we have an active improvisation team who compete annually in the city and provincial improve. games. This year we will be the host school for the provincial improv. games. Please visit our website for more information about our school, or see
